What I Do
My mission is to offer empathetic, educated care to birthers and partners to support the creation of a meaningful, positive story about their experience with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My role as a doula is to enable the birther to make informed, consensual decisions and maintain a sense of control throughout their journey. Although hiring a doula does not guarantee a birth will unfold in certain ways, numerous studies have shown how the help of an educated, experienced third person facilitates birthers and partners to embrace their experience and feel supported.
You know what is best for you and your child
I value the powers of the birther’s intuition and strive to listen, inform, and support the goals and perspectives of the birther. Ultimately, I wish to be a background character in the individual’s story, someone who can be looked back on as always remaining calm, determined, and positive.
My vision is to build a reputation as a calm, positive, strong doula who guides people through the experience of becoming parents and leaves them with self-affirming stories about their journey and capabilities.
I would like to foster a broader attitude in my rural community which embraces the power of birthers, the importance of supported parents, and interweaves deep connections between birthers. A more connected village with supported parents leads to more confident, capable, and healthy children-turned-adults.
"Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers... strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength."
